About Area - Kreuzberg
Kreuzberg has been strongly shaped by its multicultural background: the inhabitants include families, students and artists living door to door with civil servants and about one third of mostly Turkish immigrants, who have shaped the district’s character far beyond the culinary aspects.
The district deriving its name from the 66 metre hill located in its southern part has been home to numerous artists, and with the fall of the wall, the alternative artistic scene fostered the development of a new and fresh pulsating nightlife. At the same time, Kreuzberg has now became the epicenter of Berlin’s LGBT community, embracing the live and let live philosophy.
The district is also abound with parks, public gardens, museums and theaters. If you want to experience the city’s true nightlife, definitely rent an apartment in Berlin here.
