About Area - Charlottenburg

Although Mitte has replaced Charlottenburg as the heart of Berlin, it remains one of the most prestigious areas in the city. Rentals are higher than elsewhere for a good reason – the district boasts several parks, including the extensive garden of the Schloss Charlottenburg and the posh area around the Lietzensee lake.

Charlottenburg is a great place for shopping and sightseeing, too. Boulevard Kurfürstendamm is the traditional local shopping venue, while cultural sights like the Gedächtniskirche are also readily available. The famous Zoological garden is also worth a visit, containing almost 20,000 animals, the largest collection of species in the world.

When looking for places to eat, one can afford to get picky here, as the offer is extremely rich and all depends on the tastes. Public transportation is readily available, with lines virtually everywhere. Accommodation is easy to find as well, with apartments for rent of all sizes and price ranges.
