About: Life in Berlin Charlottenburg
Although nowadays Mitte has replaced Charlottenburg as the heart of Berlin, it remains one of the most prestigious areas of the city. Rent prices are higher than elsewhere for good reason – the district is home to several parks, including the spacious gardens of Charlottenburg Palace and the lavish area around the Lietzensee.
Charlottenburg is a great place for shopping and sightseeing. The Kurfürstendamm is traditionally the centre for shopping in Berlin. You will also find various cultural landmarks here, such as the Gedächtniskirche (Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church) or the famous Zoologischen Garden, which is home to nearly 20,000 animals and therefore the biggest collection of species in the world.
When searching for restaurants you can afford to be picky, given that the choice is so rich and caters for every taste. Public transport is easily accessible and boasts convenient connections which you can find practically everywhere. Accommodation is easy to find as well, with apartments for rent of all sizes and price ranges.
